Job Description
  • Perform eye refraction and all clinical functions of an ophthalmic optometrist
  • Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception
  • Prescribe, supply, fit and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses and vision aids
  • Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements and safety factors
  • Consult with and refer patients to ophthalmologist or other health care practitioner if additional medical treatment is determined necessary
  • Complete other duties assigned by management
Requirements
  • Advanced Diploma in Ophthalmology with transcripts (3 years)
  • 2-3 years of work experience
  • RAHPC license
  • Police Clearance Certificate
  • Primary and secondary school certificates
  • All education certificates and degree documentation notarized by a lawyer
  • 6 days/week, 40 hours/week availability for 3-4 month engagement
