The BootStack team builds and runs distributed systems on private infrastructure for customers, using technologies from Kubernetes to OpenStack. This role manages the engineers who run day-to-day managed services for customer environments, working closely with customers, product engineering and operations.
Manage a growing engineering team to improve the quality and speed of development and operations
Define and track team health indicators
Put disciplined engineering and operations processes in place
Represent the team to stakeholders, customers and external teams
Keep the team focused on priorities, milestones and deliverables
Meet service level agreements for customer deployments worldwide
Deliver managed services consistently and on time
Requirements
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology field
A proven track record in software delivery (for example Python, Go, C, C++ or Java) and/or managing operations teams
Proven experience with OpenStack
A demonstrated commitment to testing and maintainable code
Experience with Linux system administration
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience with agile methods
Experience working in and managing distributed teams
Technical aptitude for complex distributed systems and cloud technologies
Willingness to travel roughly 20% of the time or less for team events, company events and customer meetings
Nice to have: Ubuntu/Debian experience
