PeopleCert seeks a Localisation Associate to manage end-to-end translation of Business and IT products from English into Japanese, including official books, exams, and training materials, working with freelancers, Language Service Providers (LSPs), and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Create and manage translation projects within XTM Translation Management System while meeting deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
Identify and implement AI tools to improve workflow efficiency
Handle translation efforts across various content types from English into Japanese
Perform file alignments and maintain translation memories
Source and manage external translators and LSPs
Conduct rigorous quality checks on translated materials
Serve as central communication point for feedback and issue resolution
Manage administrative duties including file management and reporting
Requirements
Native or equivalent fluency in Japanese and English; LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be also a plus
Experience in a Language Service Provider environment or translation function managing Japanese projects; professional education sector experience preferred
Academic background in Translation Studies (preferred)
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects meeting time and budget requirements
Proficiency with CAT tools, Machine Translation, and TMS; experience with XTM is advantageous
Experience in handling various file formats (MS Office, InDesign, etc.) with a solid understanding of file engineering
ECDL Advanced level certification is desirable
Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills
Proactive, detail-oriented approach with ability to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders
