Job Description
  • Oversee raw material receiving checks and verify quality of incoming raw nuts
  • Manage quality of packaging materials and processing aids before factory acceptance
  • Oversee grading and classification of macadamia kernels to meet international standards
  • Manage hourly sampling at key processing stages
  • Enforce organoleptic testing protocols for rancidity and off-flavor detection
  • Authority to place On Hold any batch of nuts that fails moisture specs
  • Verify monitoring records for Critical Control Points
  • Support QA and sanitation inspector teams
  • Maintain training matrices for both teams
  • Review laboratory results before recommending product release
  • Conduct routine Prerequisite Program inspections
  • Document inspection findings and report gaps
Requirements
  • Minimum diploma or degree in food science or food technology
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • Must have either ISO 22000 experience, HACCP, FSSC 20000, BRCGS
  • Team management experience
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Written and verbal communication abilities
  • Macadamia processing experience (preferred)
  • Kenya citizenship or permanent residency required
